How to Use

How To Use:

Step 1:

Pretreat the area with a BISSELL Pretreat Spray for at least 15 mins prior to using the machine.

Step 2:

Use the machine as instructed in the User Guide using warm water in the clean tank with approx. 30ml BISSELL SpotClean formula and 60ml BISSELL Oxy Boost.

Step 3:

Leave the area to air dry naturally, then repeat this process as needed to achieve the desired result. Multiple rounds may be needed on areas/items that have not been deep cleaned regularly before.

IMPORTANT

Only use warm or cool tap water in this machine. Thoroughly clean machine after use. Only use water & approved BISSELL Formula. Do not use vinegar, essential oils, including Eucalyptus oil, laundry detergent or any other additives as these may damage the machine and void the guarantee.

*We recommend checking the care label and/or manufacturer's cleaning instructions for carpets, rugs, upholstery, and car interiors prior to using this machine to ensure compatibility. Perform a test patch in a discreet area first. Not suitable for delicate pure wool, viscose, jute, silk, leather, natural suede.

Which BISSELL formulas do I use in my machine?

The SpotClean Turbo series of machines are compatible with most BISSELL carpet cleaning formulas labelled for use with full-size upright carpet cleaners or portable machines.

Why is SpotClean Turbo AutoMate compatible with BISSELL carpet cleaning formulas for full-sized upright machines, but the other SpotClean machines are limited to the formulas labelled for use in portable machines?

The SpotClean Turbo series of machines have internal designs and components derived from a full-size upright machine. This is why they are compatible with all BISSELL carpet cleaning formulas, regardless of whether labelled for use in portable machines or full-size upright carpet cleaners.

Other SpotClean portable spot cleaners are only compatible with the low-foaming BISSELL formulas labelled for use in portable machines.

What is the BISSELL Pretreat Spray used for?

Pretreating is the first step in deep cleaning your carpets or fabric upholstery. For best results, particularly on set-in stains, use the pretreatment spray at least 15 minutes prior to using the machine. Pretreating beforehand loosens and mobilises embedded dirt, stains, and odours, allowing for optimal cleaning results.

What types of carpet can the SpotClean Turbo AutoMate be used on?

SpotClean Turbo AutoMate is suitable for use on most types of carpet and fabric upholstery. However, we strongly recommend checking the care instructions of your carpet/upholstery first to ensure compatibility, and performing a test patch in a discreet area. We do not recommend using carpet washers on loop-pile/berber carpet, pure or delicate wool, silk, jute, viscose, leather, natural suede, or other materials sensitive to water and agitation.

Oxy Boost - do I need to use it?

We recommend adding Oxy Boost to your tank with your formula for best results on old stains, stubborn messes, and lighter-coloured fabrics or carpets.

Can I use my portable or handheld carpet washer as a dry vacuum for hair or debris?

The BISSELL portable and handheld carpet washer are wet spray/extraction machines only. Do not use them for picking up dry debris. You may damage your deep cleaner and void your warranty. It is recommended to vacuum the area with a dry vacuum (where possible) before using your deep cleaner to remove debris and hair. Please refer to the “how to use” section of your User’s Guide for additional details.

How do I clean the hose on my SpotClean?

Simply use the Hydro-Rinse Tool after each use to flush your hose clean before storage (included with select models). The Hydro-Rinse Tool can also be purchased separately on our website.

What is the difference between the BISSELL SpotClean machines?

The included attachments, warranty, suction motor strength, hose length, and other features can differ between models. To find the right machine for you, use our website's compare function to compare up to three products at a time. Look for the 'Compare' or 'Compare this product' buttons.

How long will it take for my carpet to dry?

Drying time varies greatly by the type of carpet or fabric upholstery, the density/thickness of the pile, airflow around the area, and cleaning technique of the user. However, it is best to wait at least two to three hours before walking on the carpet after deep cleaning.

Some of our full-size upright machines include Express Mode - which can have carpets dry in as little as half an hour.

Note: The user is in control of the water output with BISSELL machines. Press the trigger to release water & formula, let go of the trigger to dry. Continuously holding down the trigger is not necessary.
